The company's main area is S&P shipbroking of second hand coasters and deep-sea vessels. Our team has especialised on tenders and auctions of Brazilian state companies, where the bureaucracy is challenging and the opportunities are great.

We have sold and purchased several kind of vessels of different ages from/to our local or foreign clients, private and state companies, for further trading. Our technical and commercial advice comprises the initial enquiry till the delivery and acceptance of the vessel by the buyers, including the drafting of the whole related documentation.

Demolition

We have sold a number of vessels from these state companies during this time, some of them for scrapping. As a consequence of this, De Moura Shipping became active in the demolition and towage business as well.

Survey Division

A survey division carries out ships inspection and condition surveys, analysing class status at classification societies and issuing reports with pictures. Independent audits on flag and port state control have been offered to our clients since 1998. Port state control in Brazil is a serious issue as the IMO have put pressure on the country to clamp down on substandard shipping; vessels are being detained for not meeting the right standards. Shipowners wanting to prevent such situation may count on us for an independent preventive audit.

We have two port state control officers, duly certified by Brazilian Navy, who are able to sail between two ports of call if needed. This is in order not to delay vessels during busy port operations, which is often the main concern of shipping companies and shipmasters. Furthermore, we offer pre-purchase surveys and issue evaluation certificates.
